This December alone, together:
We introduced our first Jeff’s Place Holiday Marketplace, made possible with help from the Framingham Rotary Club. We recognize the challenges and struggles of solo parenting and this special offering allowed children and teens who have lost a parent to choose a special gift from our shop to give to their surviving caregiver. It was so meaningful and empowering for our kids to pick out gifts that their caregiver would later open this holiday season bringing joy in what can often be a difficult time of year.
We hosted our annual Holiday Memorial Celebration that brought together all our JP families to share in joy and grief as we know that these emotions can live side-by-side. The night was filled with our yearly rituals: luminaries, live music, candy house decorating, and a craft to honor those we miss. A special thank you to Rail Trail Flatbread Co. for generously supporting our JP community by providing the delicious feast! The event not only filled our stomachs, but also our hearts.
We continued our #OperationCommunityCares initiative thanks to a cuddly contribution from Veralto who provided Comfort Buddies to our bereaved siblings. Families with young children were able to take home a special friend to offer solace and hugs.
Looking ahead to the new year, we are excited about forging more connections, strengthening our community, and empowering all on this profound journey.
