As summer winds down, our Jeff‘s Place team has been busy getting ready for another year of grief support services. We are looking forward to having our families back in our space. As always, our amazing volunteers have donated their time and energy to help us prepare for another year. We are touched by the generosity of all those who have volunteered this summer, and want to acknowledge some very special contributions.
Memory Bears
Each summer, an anonymous volunteer our families have deemed “The Bear Lady”, lovingly sews stuffed bears for families at Jeff‘s Place. The bears are created by stitching together articles of clothing, pieces of fabric, and other mementos belonging to a family’s special person. Thank you to “The Bear Lady” for creating these one-of-a-kind friends for our families. They bring such comfort and are beyond treasured.
Cheery Florals
Our volunteer facilitator, Linda, and her friend, Danielle, kicked off the summer in bold and beautiful fashion. They planted a blooming display of flowers and created gorgeous planters for our entry. These flowers were generously donated by Tilly and Salvy’s Bacon Street Farm. We appreciate the beauty and renewal that only flowers can bring!
Refreshed and Refinished
One of our Jeff‘s Place families graciously took on the task of refinishing our outdoor furniture, which was in desperate need of some TLC! They did a beautiful job; their work will be greatly appreciated during our early Fall pizza dinners and community events.
Handiwork
The Sterling Men’s Team LNMB came by for a volunteer day, and boy, were they busy! In addition to creating a pebble walkway from the sidewalk to the driveway, they re-distributed soil, weeded, fixed broken hinges and railings, and completed several other odd jobs around our house. We are beyond grateful for their hard work and dedication.
